RGMC January Event, Pony Bingo Culinary Challenge and Mustang Bingo

The RGMC will finally emerge from Covid Lockdown by resuming our Club Culinary Challenge on Saturday, January 21, at Manzano Mesa Multi-Generational Center (MMMC) in Albuquerque. Contestants are encouraged to bring their signature dish beginning around 10:30 AM. Mustang Bingo will follow.

The national televising of the Culinary Challenge will be preempted by some football game this year. RGMC competitors are encouraged to submit their epicurean themed dish to this prestigious competition, the only scheduled Cooking Contest this year. Trophy Classes include Entrée, Salad, Side Dish and Dessert. Members will be asked to declare their cooking class when responding to the formal invitation before the event. The serving table will have power for crock pots, chafing dishes, fondue fountains and champagne waterfalls (for those wishing to impress fellow Club members).

The RGMC Head Judge will appoint RGMC members to serve as Judges for the contest, awarding Judges with accoutrements d’ office such as disposable plates, disposable flatware and other necessities. The club will provide drinks to toast the class winners. Awesome trophies will be presented. The RGMC President wants to develop this year’s schedule of Events, so bring your ideas and volunteer to lead an event! This year, MMMC’s Bingo equipment and staff will return to provide amplified speakers and easels with whiteboards as well as helping us play Bingo (or something like it). Mustang Bingo is a traditional (if unconventional) event, popular with all RGMC members! The BingoMeister suggests that EACH Contestant bring a car-related prize of about $10 value (or more, if you feel particularly prosperous). The prize table usually has hats, Ford TM calendars and car cleaners, but other RGMC Members bring unusual contributions to the Prize Table (such as wine, NFL sweat-shirts and stuffed animals). Flaunt your imagination and bring something special! Everyone else will. Bingo players will be issued an official Bingo Card and Bingo Marker so we can call it BINGO! When the BingoMeister calls the numbers, everyone wins! The BingoMeister made up that rule. The BingoMeister makes up a lot of rules. Bingo winners may choose any prize on the Prize Table – and take it back to their table. Subsequent Bingo winners may choose any prize on the Prize Table – or, BingoMeister says choose a prize that someone else already won (that is, rip them off). The rippee may then select another gift from the Prize Table, or rip off another guest. That, too, may be ripped off. The BingoMeister may limit the number of times that a prize may be ripped off. He makes up a lot of rules. The MMMC is located at 501 Elizabeth SE, just one light south of Central Ave on Eubank SE, and one light east on Southern (behind COSTCO).
